It’s becoming a lot more common to choose cruelty free makeup nowadays. I am trying a lot harder to stay clear of brands that test on animals. So to help you start purchasing cruelty free makeup, I’ve compiled this ultimate list of the cruelty free makeup and skincare brands you just have to try! Trust me, you won’t be disappointed!

Eco Tools

As the name suggests, Eco Tools prides themselves in their brand being 100% vegan and cruelty free. Eco Tools sells brushes, applicators, cleansing implements, brush cleaners and lots more. You can learn more about their story and purpose here.

Phase Zero

A relatively new brand on the market, but nevertheless a good one. Their best sellers include the magnetic eye palette and the lip toppers. I am really excited to give this brand a go!

Dermalogica

A brand I have loved for a long time, Dermalogica have been producing effective and natural skincare for 25 years. My personal favourite product range is the Ultra Calming range. These products are incredible for acne/spot prone and oily skin. I can honestly say it’s the only range of products that has helped my skin!

Pacifica

Pacifica was started by Brook Harvy-Taylor, and is now one of the most creative and well known natural beauty brands on the market. The company began by selling fragrances, but now sells a full range of cruelty free makeup, skincare and other beauty products. They are also 100% vegan which is fantastic!

Burt’s Bees

Burt’s Bees are a well known skincare and cosmetic brand, who are also cruelty free (yay!). I love how natural their products are, and they place a big focus on the environment by doing things like sponsoring the British Beekeeper Association’s sponsor a beehive scheme.

Spectrum

If you haven’t heard of Spectrum’s famous brushes, where have you been?! Spectrum sell the most gorgeous, high quality and cruelty free brushes. They have released collections such as the mean girls products, zodiac and Disney (my personal fave!).

Kat Von D

Kat Von D is a brand I am yet to try, but there are a few products on my to buy list! This brand is well known for its brow products and incredible concealers and foundations. Definitely a little pricier, but worth the investment.

Pixi

Pixi has increased immensely in popularity over the past year or so. They are 100% cruelty free, and also have some products that are vegan too. They are most known for their glow tonic, which is an award winning product.

Cover FX

Cover FX are a well known innovative makeup brand with a wide variety of products. They are well known for their custom enhancer drops, power play foundation and setting spray.

The Body Shop

The Body Shop have solved all our skincare needs for a long time, and they continue to come out with fab products. They are 100% vegan and cruelty free, which is fab news for the beauty industry. They are well known for their skincare, but also stock makeup.

BH Cosmetics

BH Cosmetics stock a wide range of vivid and colourful makeup products. They sell 100% cruelty free makeup products and are well known for their eyeshadow palettes. My personal favourite is the Aurora Lights palette which I am desperate to get my hands on.

Glossier

The cruelty free makeup brand which would be in the makeup hall of fame if one existed. Everyone has heard of Glossier at this point, and for a good reason. Their minimalistic packaging, quality products and natural ingredients makes them the perfect brand. Popular choices include the cloud paints, milk jelly cleanser and the boy brow.

B. Beauty by Superdrug

This is a brand I have only discovered recently, but I am glad I did! B. Beauty is owned by the well known beauty chain Superdrug. B. stocks products such as skincare, makeup and applicators.

Revolution Beauty

A brand loved by any beauty obsessed blogger on a budget, Revolution is 100% cruelty free. Their recent £4 concealer took the internet by storm, and I can say from personal experience that I can tell why! Brilliant coverage for £4, bargain! The Soph eyeshadow palette was also a big hit.

Anastasia Beverly Hills

The queen of eyeshadow and highlighter palettes, Anastasia has become one of the best loved beauty brands on the market. The recent release of the Norvina Palette has sent it straight to the top of my beauty wish list!

Marc Jacobs

Marc Jacobs beauty is slightly more high end, but still a well loved brand. I am desperate to try one of the foundations, I’ve heard such great things! The foundation brush is also a popular choice. Here is a link to their best sellers.

Milk Makeup

Milk Makeup are an up and coming brand in the beauty world who have very quickly made their mark. The blur stick primer was a big beauty hit and still continues to be a best seller for the brand, and I can totally see why!

The Balm

The Balm are a makeup brand with a philosophy of ‘beauty in five minutes’. This makes it a great brand for us busy gals. Many of their products serve more than one purpose, giving a quick but quality beauty fix. An example would be the Balm Voyage Palette. This travel friendly beauty had eyeshadows, blushes, a bronzer, highlighter, and a lip/cheek cream! 6 in 1, not bad eh?

Wet n Wild

Wet n Wild are an LA based makeup brand with a wide variety of products. The brand started with a silk finish lipstick, a product still widely popular today.

Urban Decay

Although it is owned by parent company L’Oreal, Urban Decay is a cruelty free certified brand. It’s one of the chicest, long wearing brands around. Popular with every girl, you won’t find many beauty lovers without a UD product in their collection.

Too Faced

Too Faced is owned by the non cruelty free brand Estee Lauder, but they are cruelty free certified. The range of bright and gorgeous products is bound to appeal to any makeup lover. They first made a statement in the eyeshadow department. However they are now well known for other products such as their Born This Way foundation and the Better Than Sex mascara. (Plus they now ship to the UK, yay!)

Hourglass cosmetics are a completely cruelty free brand, and 80% of their products are vegan. The remaining 20% are being discontinued or reformulated. I love their dedication to making their brand vegan!

Lush is probably one of the more well known cruelty free makeup and skincare brands, as making it known is part of their branding. They predominantly focus on skincare, body care, hygiene and bath/shower products. The products are all handmade and ethically produced, which is great for the beauty community.
